Sydney Metro 2 South West

Workfast provides specialist Rail Labour and Rail Safeworking staff to the South West line of the Sydney Metro 2 Linewide project. The labourers are working on station upgrades and assisting with shutdowns around the clock. The Workfast safeworking staff have been scheduling safeworking staff for complex shutdowns on multiple stations.

Sydney Metro from the north west of Sydney named Sydney Metro NRT North West Rapid Transit metro rail is extending through the Sydney Harbour underground to south west Bankstown through Sydenham. From Chatswood to the city new stations are being developed creating greater access to faster, more frequent rail. Sydenham to Bankstown T3 Line will also be upgraded to facilitate the new rail fleet allowing for faster and more frequent travel times.

Project features

• An air-conditioned metro train every four minutes in the peak
• Fully accessible stations including lifts
• Improved CCTV surveillance, platform screen doors, platforms level with train floors, minimal gaps between platforms and trains
• New or upgraded concourses and new station entries
• Improved station interchange facilities
• All trains stopping at all local stations – no waiting for the right train
• Less time spent waiting due to higher frequency services
• Safe and efficient connections during the peak and non-peak periods between key centres along the T3 Bankstown Line
• Reduced travel times to key employment and education precincts
• New, direct and fast services to Martin Place, Barangaroo, North Sydney, Chatswood and Macquarie Park
• Interchanges to other rail services at Sydenham, Central and Martin Place.
